Retailers Donate $250,000 to College For All Texans Foundation to Aid Graduating Seniors

TWC to extend its grant with TREF

The Texas Workforce Commission will continue its relationship with TREF in the form of a grant extension. TREF will continue to work with high school Juniors and Seniors across the state of Texas by using an online customer service curriculum, paying for students to take the National Professional Certification in Customer Service and offering $800 scholarships to colleges and universities.

TREF receives a mini-grant from NRFF

TREF received a $15,000 grant from the National Retailers Federation in September. With this funding, TREF will increase the awareness among hiring managers of the National Professional Certification in Customer Service, expand awareness throughout Texas of certification sites and training programs and develop educational and community institutions’ knowledge of the National Professional Certification in Customer Service assessment testing and certification.

TREF will host meetings for hiring managers to learn about the certification and take the certification assessment. Newsletters are being sent more frequently to students, educators and retailers and a website has been developed to keep them abreast of our programs and opportunities in retailing. TREF will have a larger presence in retailing conferences where we will be able to increase awareness of the National Professional Certification in Customer Service.

In June, 25 central Texas Payless Shoe Source managers participated in our seminar and received their National Professional Certification in Customer Service.
